Hope for Change

Our Story

Music has always been my passion-for me it can evoke emotions and tell stories in a way that words alone cannot. So when the UK entered lockdown in 2020, I turned to music as a means of combating the isolation. However, I soon realized that many people, including myself, were unprepared for the impact of social isolation on their mental health. During video calls with friends and family, we discovered that they too were experiencing similar challenges. This led us to conceive the Impressions Project—an endeavor born out of the desire to use our creative talents to raise awareness about mental health. Our aim was to create an immersive and inclusive space that supports new and upcoming artists, while also combating feelings of isolation.

Starting as casual brainstorming sessions with a few friends, it evolved into a dynamic and expansive initiative to produce a powerful and educational musical theatre production which covers hard-hitting mental health issues. Thanks to Music Theatre Warwick and Warwick Tech Crew, Impressions: The Musical was performed live in December 2022.

We want to work towards creating a world where mental health is prioritised and where everyone feels comfortable seeking help when needed. Our aims are to firstly bring Impressions to schools and colleges. By offering performance recordings, licenses, and workshops on the production’s themes, we can provide an immersive and educational experience for students to gain a better understanding of mental health. Additionally, we want to use our platform to support and inspire others and amplify the work and stories of other upcoming creators who are raising awareness of mental health.
